Drive Pulleys provide the driving force for the conveyor and are located at the discharge/remote end of the conveyor.

The drive pulley may or may not also be the head pulley. Usually has a larger diameter than other pulleys in the system and is often lagged (ceramic or rubber) to increase traction and pulley life.
