Low Profile Feeder
Transmin’s Low Profile FeederTM (LPF) is the original hybrid feeder delivering the advantages of both belt and apron feeders, plus additional benefits over conventional feeder technology that are unique to Transmin.
The Low Profile Feeder has the unique ability to change direction using a bend transition. A change of direction from horizontal to inclined can be achieved without the requirement of a second machine; therefore creating improved space utilisation, flexibility of plant layout, eliminating transition points between conveyors, and reducing capital expenditure. LPF machine capacities vary according to application, although rates of 6,000tph and above are readily available. The LPF is built with trusted components, proven in the most arduous applications, with a low ongoing cost of ownership.

Stockpile Reclaim
Ideal for use in the restricted space beneath stockpile, minimising civil costs. The LPF acts as a feeder and transfer conveyor in one.
Front End Loader
Mounted on a simple pad, ideal for material recovery via wheel loader.
Side-Tip Truck Receival
The side-tip truck application is perfectly suited for use by road-trains, making receival incredibly efficient. Multiple hoppers can be employed on a single machine.

Frequently asked questions
Compared to an apron feeder the chains are outboard of the cross slats, rather than underneath, which means the belt line is lower than apron feeder pans and runs on the PCD of the drive sprocket.
Belt feeders typically have belts operating under high tension, necessitating the use of very heavy belts and large diameter drive pullies. With the LPF all tensions are taken through the chains and slats which means the drive sprockets can be considerably smaller in diameter.
Transmin doesn’t experience the belt ripping off the slats. The reason is two-fold. The first is the fact that the belt is not under tension (the chains carry the tension). The second is due to ongoing product development, which resulted in our patented belt bolts that have a large diameter, bugle head giving a wide contact point with the belt.
Unlike a belt feeder, the chains carry all of the tension in the system, so can be guided around rollers. The belt simply supports the material and provides a seal. Conventional apron feeders cannot be transitioned around rollers due to difficulties with conventional pans jamming as they close up.
The LPF uses a special design of transition bend rollers which guides the chains around the bend into the inclined section.
We have an example maintenance schedule that we can send upon request.
Maintenance time is required at six-monthly and annually intervals to carry out major tasks. At six-months, we expect these tasks to take 24-48 hours, on average. Annually, we expect these tasks to take 72 hours, on average.
Costs are usually determined on a case-by-case basis. This is due to wear rates on equipment varying for each application based on duty and material being fed/conveyed. Major components that require attention are wear liners, belt, head sprockets and chain.
