Types of Ball Charging Systems

Automated Ball Chargers

For larger plants Transmin specialises in designing automated ball charging systems, typically incorporating side wall ‘pocket-belt’ conveyors, that intake from ball storage and then elevate the balls within the plant – transferring to flat belt conveyors incorporating multiple mill feed stations in the form of pneumatic ploughs and gates.
Ball Chargers

Several tonnes of grinding media (normally in the form of steel balls) are consumed by process plants as part of the comminution process. The handling of heavy steel balls can be a safety issue when drums of balls are hoisted and tipped, often manually, into chutes and mill outlets.

Transmin can custom-engineer steel ball storage vessels to suit any operation. This includes hoppers and trays designed to handle various ball diameters – from 27mm to 150mm.
Drum Kibbles

A drum kibble is the simplest solution for low ball consumption operations. Transmin’s safe, compact design incorporates a hoist to elevate an opened 200L drum of balls into the feeder kibble. Standard kibble capacity is 600L.

Once in the feeder kibble and onto the feed chute, the balls are sorted into a single depth for presentation to the slot feeder. Transmin’s standard design can accommodate 30, 52 and 80mm balls simultaneously.
