Container Unloader Heads for QLD - August 2006
One of Transmin's more specialised product lines is a range of ISO container loading and unloading systems. Many companies now ship or store bulk materials in ISO containers and some years ago Transmin developed a number of designs to load and unload containers, be they conventional rear opening containers or those with a removeable lid.
One such system to unload 20FT containers having removable lids has been delivered to a major nickel project in Queensland by Transmin. The device accepts the container from a fork lift and secures it in position, a lid lifting device then removes the lid and stores it clear of the container. The container is then rotated 180 degrees allowing the material to fall out into a storage hopper beneath ready for transport int the process by a series of Transmin heavy duty twin scroll screw feeders.
As the device rotates, it does so into a fully shrouded enclosure, to which is fitted a dust control system to ensure any dust emissions are captured and returned to the process.
The empty container is then returned to the park position and the lid refitted prior to removal.
The photographs show just the unloader module without lid lifting device or storage hopper. |
