Price is usually the main driver of the buying decision, but quality of the weld attachment between link and flight and lead times are also important.

Transmin maintains stocks of drop forged links in the more common sizes so all that needs to be done on receipt of an order is to attacht the flights, which can usually be completed in an acceptable time frame.

Sprockets, teeth segments and tail wheels are machined to order, items such as casings, sprocket cleaners and internals are fabricated as required.  Manganese wear rails are held in stock at Transmin.
